Going to college is a major life transition for young adults and parents. Most college students are living independently for the first time. The transition from high school and living at home, to college dorms and coursework can be both exciting and overwhelming. There are many stressors that college students must learn to navigate such as time management, academic pressure, social life, making new friends, relationship issues, and roommates. It is not uncommon for students to struggle with these life changes. For some, this can lead to new and/or worsening symptoms of depression, anxiety, and difficulty sleeping.
Through many years of experience working with college students, I deeply understand the unique challenges that you are facing, and can help you learn to navigate student life in a healthy way. We work together to help you better understand what is happening, so you can regain a sense of control, explore opportunities for change, and work to find solutions. Improving personal skills and managing difficult symptoms, also helps college students strengthen their self-confidence.
Whether you are a student at the University of Colorado at Boulder, or another college, having a safe, confidential space to discuss your concerns is essential.
